If an employee has not selected a super fund before their employer submits their contribution and there is no fund against the employee’s name in the contributions file, a stapling error check will occur.
To resolve this error, you will need to either:
1. request the employee choose a complete the choice of super fund form, or
2. contact the ATO and determine whether the employee has a stapled super fund account.
Note: If the employee does not have a stapled account, you may register the employee for your default super fund.
