Below are some of the common SuperStream Messages, their meaning, and descriptions:
Message Type | Meaning | Description |
CTR | Contribution Transaction Request |
A message sent by an Employer that contains the contribution details of its employees as members of a superannuation fund.
For example, an Employer submitting a contribution file will generate a CTR that is sent to the funds in the file. |
CTER | Contribution Transaction Error Response |
A message from a Superannuation fund that notifies an employer that a CTR has been rejected and refunded.
For example, selecting the incorrect ESA for a SMSF will cause it to be rejected and generate a CTER the Employer can view. |
MRR | Member Registration Request |
A message sent by an Employer that contains new or changed details of its employees as members of a superannuation fund.
For example, adding a new member or modifying an existing member’s details will generate an MRR that is sent to their superannuation fund. |
MROR | Member Registration Outcome Response |
A message from a Superannuation fund that notifies an Employer of the success or error condition of the new or changed member details received in a MRR from the Employer.
For example, an Employer that creates and sends a MRR of a new member without a Member ID may then receive a MROR message from the fund that supplies that missing member’s Member ID. |
